Purpose of the Event
지난해 처음으로 개최된 제1회 <한·아세안 지식재산 협력 컨퍼런스>는 아세안과 한국의 지식재산 전문가들이 한자리에 모여, 문화 다양성을 바탕으로 지식재산 보호와 창출의 중요성을 공유하는 뜻깊은 자리였습니다. 이 행사를 통해 우리는 아세안의 풍부한 문화 유산을 지식재산의 틀에서 재발견하고, 이를 보호·활용하기 위한 협력의 첫걸음을 성공적으로 내디뎠습니다. 특히, <2023 서울선언>을 통해 향후 민간 차원의 협력 기회 확대에 중요한 기틀을 마련했습니다.
올해 <2024 한·아세안 지식재산 협력 컨퍼런스>는 새로운 시대적 도전과 기회를 맞아 "AX 시대의 지식재산 협력과 기술 혁신"을 주제로 개최됩니다. 'AX'는 디지털 전환과 기술 혁신이 가속화되는 시점에서 지식재산의 보호와 활용이 더없이 중요한 과제로 떠오르고 있습니다.
이번 컨퍼런스는 한국과 아세안이 직면한 디지털 혁신의 물결 속에서 어떻게 지식재산을 창출하고 보호할 수 있을지에 대해 논의합니다. 또한, 급변하는 기술 환경 속에서 인공지능, 빅데이터, 블록체인 등 신기술이 어떻게 지식재산과 결합하여 새로운 가치를 창출할 수 있는지에 대한 심도 있는 논의가 이루어질 것입니다.

The inaugural Korea-ASEAN Intellectual Property Cooperation Conference, held last year, provided a valuable opportunity for experts from Korea and ASEAN to come together and discuss the importance of IP protection and creation driven by cultural diversity. It shed new light on the abundance of ASEAN's cultural heritage within the framework of intellectual property and marked the beginning of cooperation in its protection and utilization. In particular, the 2023 Seoul Declaration has established a solid foundation for future expansion of private sector-led cooperation.
2024 Korea-ASEAN Intellectual Property Cooperation Conference will focus on intellectual property cooperation and technological innovation in the AX era, a topic selected in response to the new challenges and opportunities of our time. In particular, the acceleration of digital transformation and technological innovation revolving around AX clearly highlights the overarching importance of IP protection and utilization.
At this conference, we will address the ways in which Korea and ASEAN can facilitate IP protection and creation in the context of the imminent digital revolution. Furthermore, we anticipate in-depth discussions on how emerging technologies, such as AI, big data, and blockchain, can be integrated with intellectual property to drive value creation in this rapidly evolving technological landscape.
This conference will serve as a crucial platform for achieving IP protection and creation through close collaboration between Korea and ASEAN. We aim to foster sustainable and innovative collaboration between Korea and ASEAN underpinned by IP, with the ultimate goal of presenting a new direction for global IP collaboration.
