Greetings
올해는 대한민국과 아세안이 수교를 맺은 지 34년이 되는 해입니다. 우리의 경제·사회·문화적 협력과 교류는 점점 증대하고 있고, 상호 지식재산 보호와 활용에 관한 정보교류의 협력 필요성 또한 더욱더 커지고 있습니다.
앞서 한국 특허청을 중심으로 <2022 한·아세안 지식재산 협력에 대한 공동선언문>을 발표하면서 산업재산권 협력은 시작되었습니다. 한·아세안의 협력은 산업재산권 분야뿐만 아니라 저작권, 콘텐츠, 소프트웨어, 음반, 미술, 신지식재산권 등의 분야로 확대되어 나가야 할 것이며, 이를 위해서는 민간 차원의 협력과 교류 또한 강화되어야 합니다. 지식재산에 대한 인식을 제고하고 한·아세안의 지식재산 생태계를 조성하기 위해서는 민간의 활동이 뒷받침되어야 하기 때문입니다.
이에 한국과 아세안 지식재산 민간 전문가 및 관련 인사 여러분을 초청해, 각국의 지식재산 환경과 민간 중심의 협력 방안에 대해 논의하여, 민간 교류의 장을 활짝 열고자 합니다.
이번 컨퍼런스가 지식재산 보호 및 활용에 대한 다양한 정보를 공유하는 자리가 되기를 바라며, 이를 기점으로 한국과 아세안 각국의 지속적인 협력 관계를 구축하고, 지식재산 교류의 시발점이 되기를 바랍니다.

As we commemorate the 34th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and ASEAN, we acknowledge the continuous growth in our economic and socio-cultural collaborations, leading to an increasing demand for shared knowledge in the realm of intellectual property protection and utilization.
The foundation of our industrial property rights cooperation was laid with the introduction of the <2022 Korea-ASEAN Joint Declaration on Intellectual Property Cooperation>, spearheaded by the Korean Intellectual Property Office. We recognize that our partnership extends beyond industrial property rights to encompass areas such as copyright, content, software, music, art, and emerging intellectual property rights. To achieve this, it is essential to bolster cooperation and engagement at the grassroots level, particularly within the private sector. This is vital as private sector initiatives play a pivotal role in elevating awareness of intellectual property and nurturing a thriving intellectual property ecosystem connecting Korea and ASEAN.
In light of this, we extend a warm invitation to intellectual property experts and professionals from both domestic and international private sectors, hailing from Korea and ASEAN countries. Together, we aim to delve into the intellectual property landscapes of each nation and explore collaborative measures centered on the private sector. Our objective is to create a platform for meaningful private exchanges on intellectual property between Korea and ASEAN.
We envision this conference as an opportunity to share diverse insights on intellectual property protection and utilization. It is our hope that this event will mark the beginning of a sustained collaborative relationship between Korea and ASEAN nations and ignite a vibrant era of private sector-driven intellectual property exchange in the Korea-ASEAN context.
